Melbourne!

G'day! I am now in Sydenham! It is a suburb right outside of Melbourne. This is my second full day here. It is 11:09 a.m on June 1st, where at home it is 8:09 p.m. on May 31st. I am staying with the senior pastor of the church and his family. They are all very nice and welcoming. They have a daughter Emily and a son Alaster. Yesterday, I went up to the church for the first time and worked with the youth minister, Paulina. She is so sweet and fun! She is going to pick me up in just a little bit and were gonna head to lunch! All of the people at the church seem very nice and I am excited to get to know them. Tonight is youth! I just found out yesterday that I am actually teaching the Bible Study tonight...pressure haha. The topic is "Forgiving like God does". I am just finishing up planning what I will be speaking on and doing activities with. I am excited to meet the youth group. It is pretty cold here, still trying to master the math of transferring Celsius to Farenheit. I am also trying to get used to sitting on the left side of the car for the passenger seat. The Aussie jargon is so different! Trying to learn it, I'm sure I'll come back to America speaking this whole new Aussie language!

We made it!

May 28, 2012
I am in Sydney, Australia! After traveling for a very long time we have made it! I successively traveled alone for the first time and didn't get lost. I made it to Los Angeles and got to meet up with the rest of the team! After you know a small flight (just 15 hours) we made it to Sydney! We made it through customs and got to meet up with our supervisors! We waited for our rented van to arrive and headed to our camp sight called Kiah Ridge Conference Centre. We have so far spent our day telling each others our stories and we we are here. We have learned some about what we are going to encounter. God has already shown me that this is exactly where I am going to be this summer. I am so excited and just happy to be here. We have had several "tea times" which I just love. For lunch we had an "Aussie Burger" which included pineapple and beets (weird right?) We just walked outside and we saw ELEVEN kangaroos!!! Real live ones. I was so excited. I think I almost scared them away with my laugh. So far..I'm loving it.
